  30. That is most probably your answer. 800x600x8 = almost 500K of RAM let alone the
  31. chip ram required by other proggys.  Another possibility:  Do you run one of
  32. those piccy bootup programmes (the ones that display a nice picture while your
  33. machine boots up)?  If so, that will cause severe chip ram fragmentation.
